Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center MenuWork Release
The Detention Center’s Work Release Program operates in accordance with VA Code 53.1-131. It is a program that is designed to allow for misdemeanant and non-violent offenders with sentences 24 months or less and no recent history of violence, sexual or escape related offenses the opportunity to find employment and begin the process of working prior to their release from the facility. Furthermore, it allows inmates to work towards paying restitution and/or fines while incarcerated. All newly incarcerated inmates are evaluated for this program upon final disposition of their charges. While charges are pending, an inmate is ineligible to participate in the program.
