The Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center (NRADC) appreciates your interest in our organization. We, as a facility, want to help build a career for individuals seeking an opportunity in the field of corrections, whether it be from a sworn or non-sworn position.
Applications are accepted on a regular basis, as the facility is growing regularly, and we are always looking to find great people to join our organization. We have positions that are both sworn and non-sworn, with non-sworn positions being more limited. All applications are completed online through Frederick County’s website. Minimum Qualifications for a Position with NRADC:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
-
Must be 21 years of age or older for all Sworn positions
-
Must be 18 years of age or older for all Non-Sworn positions
-
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Must not have been convicted of any felony or serious misdemeanor
-
Sworn and Maintenance applicants must have a valid driver's license
-
Successfully pass the established pre-employment screens that include but are not limited to NRADC Physical Agility Test, fingerprinting, polygraph examination and medical clearance

Pre-Employment Physical Agility Test

Polygraph Examination

Background Interview and Investigation

Conditional offer of employment

Medical- Physical & Drug screening

Final Approval by Superintendent
Please note that appointments for polygraph examinations and the medical physical will occur. Appointments for background investigations may also occur.
The following disqualify an applicant for employment:

Incomplete Application
-
Drug use of any kind after the age of 30 or within the last 3 years
-
Any drunk driving or DUI within the last 3 years
-
Conviction of Domestic Assault or Domestic Violence
-
Drivers License suspension or revocation within the last 3 years.

Any Felony convictions or any Misdemeanor conviction involving moral misconduct or indecency after age 30 or within the last five years.
