All mail for an inmate should be mailed to the address below with the inmate’s full name.

Inmates are allowed to send and receive an unlimited amount of mail. All mail that is sent is inspected for contraband. Personal mail, including returned to sender mail, is scanned, and uploaded to the inmate tablet system. Inmates can access their mail once it is opened through this system.
Mail Restrictions:

No items larger than A4 (8 ½ X 14) paper will be accepted. This includes over-sized greeting cards and drawings.

All incoming mail must have the first and last name, along with the complete return address in the upper left corner of the envelope. The envelope cannot contain any additional pictures, images, or words on the outside.

Mail may not weigh over 2 ounces.

Photographs are accepted and will be scanned to the tablet. They may not contain vulgar, obscene or gang related material.

All material that is considered vulgar or obscene will be returned to sender.

Greeting cards are accepted with the following exceptions: the greeting card may not contain an excessive amount of glitter, tassels, strings, pop-up, etc. or be oversized.

Money orders must be sent through the mail with the inmate’s first and last name along with the senders first and last name. Do not send blank money orders, cash, or personal checks. They will be returned to sender.

Do not send stamps, envelopes, paper, pens, inappropriate pictures, plastic cards, phone cards, debit or credit cards, stickers, glued items, or staples.

Mail with perfume, lipstick, excessive amounts of glitter, etc. will not be scanned and will be returned to sender.

Personal care packages will not be accepted.

Forwarded mail of any kind is not accepted and will be returned to sender.
Mailed in Books/Magazine
Inmates are permitted to receive books and magazines through the mail. All books must come from approved distributors (listed below). Newspapers and magazines are also accepted but must come directly from the publisher or one of the approved book distributors. Any books, magazines or newspapers that are purchased through a marketplace or third-party vendor will not be accepted. If they are not mailed directly from the publisher or through an approved distributor, the books will be returned sender.

Mailed in Books/Magazine Restrictions

Hardback, bound and spiral bound books will not be accepted.

Packages can only contain up to three (3) books, which are not to exceed a package weight of more than four (4) pounds.

Photo books are not accepted.

Packages that contain items that do not meet the criteria or are considered to be a safety and security threat, will be returned to the sender in their entirety.
Grievance Procedure for Mail
Inmates may make an appeal of mail rejections through the grievance procedure, or the sender can appeal by sending a correspondence with an explanation of the appeal and a copy of the rejection or redactions notice (DC138 form) to the Captain of Security.
