Volunteers Needed
The Detention Center operates numerous programs to assist offenders in developing values and habits that can aid in reducing the chances of re-offending. These programs range from obtaining their GED and other work skills to drug and alcohol rehabilitative programs, as well as religious and spiritual based programs. To facilitate the numerous programs the Detention Center provides, the assistance of volunteers for success is vital. If you have free time and the drive to help prepare those who are incarcerated for their transition back into the community, please contact the Inside Programs Officer at (540) 665-6380, extension 2103 for an application. Please review our volunteer brochure for more information.
Community Service Work Opportunities
The local Probation Office is always in need of community service projects for non-violent offenders who are assigned to perform uncompensated community service work as part of their court ordered sentence. If you are a non-profit organization or know of any non-profit organizations that are in need of assistance, please contact the Chief of Pretrial and Probation at (540) 665-5633, extension 2602.
